Assertive Defence for People Charged With Stunt Driving
Driving more than 50 kilometres above the speed limit is considered stunt driving, which is a violation of section 172 of the Criminal Code. Other driving behaviours, such as racing, interfering with the movement of another vehicle, lingering too long in the oncoming traffic lane while passing a vehicle, or doing a "wheelie" on a motorcycle, can also be the basis for a charge of stunt driving.
There may be one or more defences that could possibly be employed for each of these behaviours. For example, in a case involving speeding, we may be able to successfully challenge the accuracy of the police estimation of the speed you were driving — enabling us to reduce the charge to a regular speeding violation carrying less serious penalties.
The Impaired Driving Defence Centre will thoroughly review all aspects of your case and develop an appropriate defence strategy. Our goal will be to obtain the best possible result for you.
