Ontario DUI Defence Lawyers
"Impaired driving" is a separate offence from "over 80." They are two distinct and separate offences under the Criminal Code of Canada. However, these charges are often laid at the same time following a police investigation. While the potential penalties and resulting effects on your life are the largely the same, defence of impaired driving and over 80 charges raise different legal issues.
If you have been arrested for impaired driving or over 80, you should not consider pleading guilty before you have spoken with a lawyer. The potential penalties and the effects on your life are too severe for you to make uninformed decisions.
In a no-charge, 30-minute consultation, a lawyer at the Impaired Driving Defence Centre can review your case and explain your legal options.

Impaired driving is when an individual, having consumed alcohol, operates a motor vehicle in a manner that is erratic or unusual, establishing that the person's ability to operate the motor vehicle is "impaired" by alcohol or drug. Examples of such driving patterns include weaving, making abrupt turns, speeding and other potentially dangerous acts of driving. You do not have to have blood alcohol content in excess of 80 mg per 100 ml to be arrested and convicted for impaired driving.
